Library is a learning institution that exists in our society from ancient times. Libraries play a vital role for a nation by preserving its cultural heritage. There is no alternative for books even in the digital age. Books make us knowledgeable and are the most important part of education.

The Library at Mysuru Royal Institution of Technology is growing by leaps and bounds every year which reflects the interest of the students. With over 8,000 books spanning more than 1200 titles, more than 5000 e-books, 10,000 scholarly e-journals, 20 magazines and newspapers, the library at MRIT boasts of excellent facilities for the students and faculty members to enrich their knowledge.

Library Computerization

The Library uses an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all in-house operations of the Library. The Koha consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation and OPAC. Retrospective conversion of bibliographic records has been completed and more than 9509 bibliographic records of books available in the Library can now be accessed through the OPAC Search. The database of books available in the Library is being updated on day to day basis with details of recently acquired books. The editing and updating activities are in progress.
