IEEE Inauguration and IEEE Mini-Project Expo 26-9-2024

The IEEE Inauguration and IEEE Mini-Project Expo 2024 was successfully held on September 26, 2024, at the Mysuru Royal Institute of Technology (MRIT). The event was a platform for Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) students to display their innovative mini-projects while interacting with industry professionals and academics. The event was organized by the IEEE Student Branch at MRIT and was attended by students, faculty, and guests from across Karnataka.

Guest Speakers

The event featured speeches by two distinguished guest speakers:

Dr. Parameshachari B D, SAC Chair, IEEE Bangalore Section, and faculty at NMIT, Bengaluru, gave an informative talk on IEEE and its role in advancing technology. He highlighted the benefits of IEEE membership for students, including access to a vast network of professionals, resources for research, and opportunities for leadership and skill development. He encouraged students to be active in IEEE initiatives to enhance their technical knowledge and career prospects.
Ravichandra Kulkarni, Chair of the IEEE Mysuru Subsection and faculty at MIT, Mysuru, delivered a keynote speech on Cybersecurity. Dr. Kulkarni discussed the increasing importance of cybersecurity in the digital age, focusing on the growing threats of cyber-attacks and the need for developing secure systems. His speech inspired students to explore this critical area of technology and emphasized the role of cybersecurity professionals in safeguarding data and systems.

Student Project Exhibition

The core of the event was the exhibition of mini-projects developed by ECE students. A wide range of projects was displayed, including:

IoT-based systems for smart homes
AI-powered communication networks
Cybersecurity frameworks for secure data transmission
Solar-powered solutions for energy efficiency

The projects demonstrated the students’ technical capabilities and creativity in solving contemporary challenges in electronics and communication.
