MRIT offers a four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering that provides a strong foundation in core engineering principles combined with modern technological advancements. The program is designed to develop analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and practical expertise in the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
The curriculum emphasizes fundamental subjects such as engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, machine design, manufacturing processes, heat transfer, and control systems. These core areas are complemented by emerging topics including computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), automation, robotics, mechatronics, renewable energy systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
This program is ideal for students aspiring to build a strong career in core engineering sectors as well as interdisciplinary domains. The curriculum is structured to balance theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning, enabling students to apply engineering concepts to real-world problems. MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT
Mr. Mahesh B S currently heading Department of Mechanical engineering at Mysuru Royal Institute of Technology obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from PESCE, Mandya and Master’s Degree in Heat Power Engineering from NITK Surathkal. Currently he is pursuing Ph.D in Bio Diesel from PESCE Mandya Research Centre under VTU Belgaum
He has more than 29 years’ experience in teaching and He has a strong background in teaching, research, and industry experience, and his career focus is on fostering student success and contributing to the growth of educational institutions.
He has contributed significantly to the research field, especially in biofuels, and has guided numerous undergraduate and postgraduate projects. He has published more than 15 research papers in journals and conferences, covering topics such as Bio Diesel, Heat Transfer, and Mechanical Engineering composites. He has delivered more than 10 talks on emerging technologies like biofuels, future fuels, and renewable energy. Mr. Mahesh has earned recognition for his work. His guided projects, such as the “Solar Peddled Hybrid Tripod Car” and “Bio Diesel,” have been featured on national television and in newspapers, highlighting his commitment to innovation.
