Internet of Things (IOT) and its Applications

The Department of Computer & Science Engineering, MRIT, Mandya, organized 3 days’ workshop on Internet of Things (IOT) and its applications in association with Karunadu Technological Pvt.Ltd, Bengaluru and IEEE PES Student Chapter from 21st to 23rd October 2024.

Workshop On “IOT and Arduino and It’s Applications” was conducted by resources from Karunadu Technological Pvt.Ltd, Bengaluru.
The principal, Dr. D J Ravi., explained how the institution supports the organization of hackathons and the opportunities created by the institution to motivate the students to participate in national and international hackathons.
The HOD of Computer & Science Engineering, Department MRIT, Mandya, Dr. Lakshmi Durga, explained the benefits of workshop and how the hands-on workshop help engineering students build their programming skills towards solving real-world problems.
They started the First day 21/10/2024, first day with the basics of IOT and Arduino Uno. He also explained the importance of workshop to get the solution for real time problems in less time. He briefed the students about IOT Protocols, Basics of Packages and he also explain in details about Introduction to Embedded Systems, Microcontrollers, Basic Electronic Concepts and circuits Building, Basic of Arduino Uno and IDE and its programing. Students are allowed to do the LED, Buzzer and Traffic Light program.
Second day 22/10/2024 is a hands-on session on simple parameters. All the group of students were get required components from resource person and students started doing the connection of some basic projects like Moisture Sensor, Temperature Sensor, LED on and off circuits using Arduino Uno Board and simulate the results.
Third day 23/10/2024 is the hands-on session of circuit connection for their respective problem statements. Each Group of students connects the circuits as per their problem statements and gets the result on the Arduino Uno Board.
All the students actively participated in this workshop and got the results they wanted. Finally, the resource persons judge each project and note down the scores.
